Hello!

A little about me...

What was your path to becoming a therapist?

I have always been empathic and a good listener. I have always been drawn to wanting to help people make their lives better. I have worked in a variety of settings, including hospitals, hospice, foster care, and group practices. My training and expertise in schema therapy have allowed me to become the clinician that I've always wanted to be. As a schema therapist, I can be more real with clients while engaging in clinically-sound interventions that inspire real change.

What should someone know about working with you?

Working with me will feel safe, warm, and sometimes challenging when pushing through difficult issues. Progress in schema therapy involves a reduction in intensity and frequency of triggers and symptoms. Occasionally, I may assign practice to do outside of session. I enjoy working with clients who like to explore issues on a deep level, as that's where the most change occurs!

What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?

I continue to engage in ongoing supervision and training to keep my clinical skills sharp and make sure that I'm continuing to provide the best care for my clients.

How do your core values shape your approach to therapy?

My own core values very much align with the work encompassed in schema therapy; I offer a relationship with a warm, caring therapist who helps address core emotional needs within appropriate limits and with clinically-sound interventions. I find the combination of compassionate presence and clinical expertise essential to healing.
